Today I am smitten by the fall.
I the fall.
I love everything about it… the crisp temperatures, the gorgeous colors, the apple creations.
And the baking. The hot tea and cider and curling up with a book or in front of a movie.
I enjoy baking. Since we have no air conditioning, the summer marks a baking hiatus for me.
But once the weather turns a bit nippy, I have free reign to produce all number of tasty things. In the last couple of days, I’ve cranked out brownies, chocolate chip cookie pie, and pumpkin bread. I’m itching to pick up some heavy cream for scones.
And any day now, I’ll manage to squeeze in my annual fall spooky movie fest. I’m not much of a much for gory movies. Not that it frightens me, it just makes me kind of sad. I’m not a big fan of violence.
But a creepy ghost movie, or a silly ghostie comedy are right up my alley.
Some of my favorites:
The Uninvited— Old, black-and-white, and fabulous!
The Changeling— Creepiest ball bouncing ever.
Nightmare Before Christmas— Come on, who doesn’t love this?
The Worst Witch— Sure it’s cheesy… but it’s still entertaining. Before Harry Potter, there was Mildred Hubble.
The Great Pumpkin— Classic
The Pumpkin Who Couldn’t Smile— Yes, Raggedy Ann and Andy are here, but it’s really all about the sad pumpkin.
Garfield’s Halloween Special— This one is funnier than you might expect.
Hocus Pocus— My husband laughs that I watch this every year, but I enjoy it. So sue me.
